Lanolin

The ingredient that makes our products truly stand out from the rest. Lanolin is the wax extracted from sheep's wool.

Why Lanolin?

Lanolin contains abundant amounts of 7-Dehydrocholestrol, the same compound in your skin that turns into vitamin D from UV rays. It is widely used to produce vitamin D supplements.

Tallow

Tallow is the rendered fat from beef.

Why Tallow?

Tallow is an excellent natural moisturizer that contains many fat-soluble vitamins needed to support skin health.

Jojoba oil

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil is a liquid wax comes from the seed of the jojoba shrub.

Why Jojoba Oil?

Jojoba oil is a non-comedogenic fat with a similar composition to the oil in our skin. It is an excellent natural moisturizer.

Olive oil

Olea europaea (Olive) fruit oil is the oil pressed from olive fruits.

Why Olive Oil?

Olive oil is very high in antioxidants and provides deep moisturization to the skin.

Beeswax

Beeswax is derived from the structure of honeycombs in beehives.

Why Beeswax?

Beeswax locks in moisture in the skin, preventing water loss from the skin. It also serves as natural waterproofing in many applications.

Mango Butter

Mangifera indica (Mango) seed butter comes from the seed of Mangos.

Why Mango Butter?

Mango Butter is a natural non-comedogenic fat that is very commonly used in skincare products to moisturize and protect the skin.

Rosehip Seed Oil

Rosehip seed oil is extracted from the seeds in rose hips.

Why Rosehip seed oil?

Rosehip seed oil is high in antioxidants that are great for fighting oxidative stress and free radicals on the skin caused by sun exposure.

Tocopherols

Tocopherols are better known as Vitamin E.

Why Vitamin E?

Tocopherols act as concentrated antioxidants to fight against free radicals.

It is ideal to store the balm in a cold and dry environment to prevent melting and extend shelf life.

1. The balm may be in a cold environment. The balm is designed to handle high temperatures without liquifying. That being said, we recommend storing the balm in a cold and dry environment to extend shelf life; however, this may result in the balm being harder to press and spread

2. We do not whip our balm. Many tallow balms are whipped, which softens the balm. However, whipped balms tend to have less balm in the container and more air, which is revealed after the balm is melted. With Sundown, you get more balm and less air, which results in a harder balm.
